Copyright
As a musician you deal with copyright all the time. I'm a big believer of managing those rights collectively, not only because collective management makes it possible to negotiate the fairest remuneration for my music, but also because it gives me more time to spend on making music.
Although, since 2012 I've been involved as boardmember and supervisory boardmember in a wide range of organisations that fight for copyright, which has interfered a little with my work as a musician :)
At the moment I'm vice-chair of the supervisory board of Buma/Stemra, co-founder and vice-chair of BAM! (Dutch Songwriters Society), a member of the Executive Committee of CIAM (International Music Creators Council) and boardmember of ECSA, the European Composers and Songwriters Alliance.
